The sightseeing can be personalized, according to your interest, and all the effective route planning for the sightseeing will be done by the city guide of TMG.
Kathmandu Durbar Square
From the hotel where you are staying, nothing is near the Kathmandu Durbar Square. It was a ceremonial site; it was a palace where the would-be kings used to be coronated in the past, now it is a palace cum museum, and to be there is to experience how the royals spend their life. Stand among the monuments, temples, and statues that back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple)
Be well prepared in advance because this stupa is located at quite an altitude and is more than 2,000 years old. This is the most important of all the Buddhist Stupas in Nepal and has a fascinating face of Lord Buddha on every side, and its base has the stonework of 5 Dhyani Buddhas – Vairocana, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha, Amoghasiddhi, and Aksobhya, and each of these represents the wisdom of Lord Buddha. People flock to this stupa to see the birds-eye view of Kathmandu.
Pashupatinath
Pashupatinath is as old as the hills, but the Hindu Committees of Nepal, looks after it, such as renovation and maintenance, and there are new adds on in and around the temple. Pashupatinath is the most important temple of Lord Shiva and located not far away from the heart of Kathmandu. Only Hindus are permitted to enter from the main gate to Pashupatinath Temple. As a visitor, you will enjoy the rich combination of architecture from a distance. If you are lucky, then you might see the Hindu Cremation taking place.
Bouddhanath
Bouddhanath is also a stupa. It is one of the holiest pilgrimages of the Buddhists. It has a white doom just like Swayambhunath, whatever the myth is, it contains the bones of Kasyapa Buddha (Buddha incarnation), while others say it contains the bone of Lord Buddha. Around the base of the stupa are 108 small images of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha. Go anytime to enjoy these images.
After an early breakfast, the guide picks you up from the hotel. You will depart from Kathmandu, and you embark across the countryside. Enter the countryside; there you will be treated by beautiful landscapes, such as jagged hills and mountains. There is the Sun Koshi River along the highway. The name of the highway is Arniko. You will see the mountains, such as Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Dorje Lakpa. You will reach Jiri Bazar, a big town and the perfect hill station; it is also known as the Switzerland of Nepal. On the way, there are also hills, terraced land, and farmland. From there, you head to Bhandar. Instead of calling Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek, it would be better to call Bhandar Everest Base Camp Trek because Bhandar is the starting point of the trek.
You will trek downhill. On the way, you will reach a desolate place. You will follow a stream and cross it and then head into a forest. On the way, there is a canyon and villages, such as Barandas, Kinja, and Chhimbu. There is a pass called Lamjura. You will have lunch on the trail. The unmaintained trekking trail takes you to the summit of the pass. Your heart pounds as you follow uphill, but before this physical challenge, you will have to cross the river; you will have to walk the steep hill.
What you do today is very much your nature. Trek, trek, trek. The trekking trail is scenic because it takes you to the forest of the rhododendron, magnolia, maple, and birch. There are lots of birds in this forest. The ascending trail later descends to the forest of fir and hemlock, to a stream, and a hotel. It also takes you to a vantage point from where you can see the birds-eye view of Junbesi, one of the villages of the Sherpa people.
After early breakfast, you trek uphill and reach the top of the ridge and see the first glimpse of Mt. Everest (8848m), Thamserku (6618m), and Mera Peak (6461m). There are river and airstrip on the way. You will head to the top of the ridge and see the incredible view. The downhill trail takes you to a suspension bridge and village, such as Ringmu and the Taksindu Pass. Finally, the trail takes you to the conifer and rhododendron forest.
Today fulfill your dream of seeing the Dudh Kosi River in a way you want as you follow a descending trekking trail. On the way, there is a village of the Rai people called Jubhing, from there, follow the ascending trekking trail. The Dudh Kosi has originated from a glacier. Furthermore, follow the ongoing ascending trekking trail with our knowledgeable guide who will take you to the awe-inspiring places, abounding with natural beauties. Enjoy the beautiful view of terraced fields as you head to the Khari Khola, a river.
Begin by climbing uphill. What you experience is exhilarating trek today. Additionally, the colorful Sherpa villages are villages like no other. There is a lush forest that is home to monkeys. Upon reaching the canyon, you find that you have got the jewel of the journey. Today, the ascending trekking trail also takes us to villages, such as Bupsa and Bhumsing village. Further steeper uphill takes us to Paiya.
The downhill and uphill trekking trail is wondrous and takes us to a village called Surke (2290m). You will also reach a village called Chaurikharka. Next, we trek to Phakding along with a trekking guide. As you trek, you see Mt Nupla (5885m) Kusum Khangkaru (6370m) and Mount Kongde Range. En route, you come across the Dudh Kosi Valley. Phakding is a small village, once in a life, you have an opportunity to spend a night in such a village. If you are interested, if you have time, then you can visit a monastery in Phakding.
As you follow the Dudh Kosi River and arrive in Toktok, you see the stunning view of Thamserku. The trekking trail climbs to Chhumowa and Monjo, and you enter Sagarmatha National Park. See the cascade of waterfalls. Follow the trekking trail that goes uphill and downhill. Villages are widely prevalent with flowers, such as Rhododendron, Magnolia, and fir. Intermingling with nature, you head to Namche. On the way, you get an ample opportunity to see the mountains.you can have a view of Mt. Everest as well as of Nuptse.
Acclimatization means an adaptation for tomorrow’s higher altitude. This does not mean staying in a lodge. For the ultimate view of the mountains, head to the Everest View Hotel, and the view consists of Mt.Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Kusum Khangkaru, Kongde and Khumbu, and others. This is a short hike, and hiking is always strenuous in the Everest Region, and the view of the mountain is impressive. You will see a 180-degree view of the mountains, and you will not regret.
The trekking trail goes uphill, but to the forest of rhododendron, juniper, and conifers and takes you to Yak Kharkas and summer settlements. The view of mountains, such as Khumbi Yul Lha and Tawache is breath-taking. If you are hungering for Chorten and believe in the reincarnation of Lama, you find today is the perfect day. If you have the dream of the latter, explore Mohang, the birthplace of the re-incarnated Lama of Rongbuk Monastery of Tibet who is believed to have introduced Buddhism in the Everest Region, en route.
Walking on a ridge, you see an excellent view of the valley, Kangtega Mountain and Cho-Oyu Mountain. Following the descending trekking trail, you reach rhododendron forest, waterfall, Tongba Village, Dhole, Lhabarma, and Luza villages. The trail also takes you to Chorten and offers you a fine view of the Dudh Kosi River. Most of the trail runs by this river. Before reaching Machherma, you descend to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier.
The trekking trail goes uphill and offers an excellent view of the Kangtega Mountain and Cho-Oyu (8,153m). Then, it goes downhill to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier and then uphill to the first lake. There are many lakes. Longpongo is one of the lakes. You will see the second lake and reach Gokyo where there is a third lake. Gokyo Lake is as blue as the sky and displays full of calmness. It glimmers in the sun rays.
You can customize to meet your needs. Acclimatization means an adaptation for tomorrow’s higher altitude. For the ultimate view of the mountains, hike to Gokyo-Ri, a viewpoint. This is a short hike, and hiking is always strenuous in the Everest Region. The view of the mountain is impressive. You will see a 180-degree view of the mountains, and you will not regret. Because you will see the breathtaking view of sunrise atop the mountain, including the world’s four highest mountains. This will be an unforgettable memory. Return to Gokyo for breakfast and relax the rest of the day.
Follow the trekking trail that goes downhill that takes you to the Ngozumba Glacier. Later, walk along the edge of the mountain, and the meandering trail that takes you to Dragnag. Today’s main highlights are mountains, such as Kusum Khangkaru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Tabuche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori.
The upper part of the trekking trail is tough; it is steep, and it is unmaintained. The top of the pass is decorated with colorful Buddhist flags. It also offers the view of the pyramidal geometrical shape of Ama Dablam, and soaring Cholatse, Lobuche, and Baruntse. From the top, the trail extends downhill. Chola Pass is a difficult trekking route; we must say. Most of the parts of the trail are moderate to adventurous. High altitude will make it difficult to breathe.
Begin walking until you reach the river bed. The trail goes uphill. TMG believes that trekking should be more enjoyable. It feels that you have walked more than your capabilities in the pass. If you desire an easy walking, today is the day. The part of the trekking trail that you are walking is grassy. You walk along the moraine of the glacier and the surrounding scenery of Chola Che. The Lobuche Peak is visible and is near Kala Patthar (5550m). You will also see the stunning view of Pumori.
Today, our top priority is to visit the Everest Base Camp. Hit to the narrow and rocky path. Next up is an area from where you can detour. Your guide will tune with the original trekking trail. You hit rocky dunes, moraines, and streams. There is a glacier on the way, the trail is rocky and windy and offers the stunning view of Mt Pumori. You also head towards the Khumbu Icefall. This part of the trek is difficult because of high altitude and thin air. After you swallow the beauty of Everest Base Camp, you say farewell to it.
When you reach the top of Kala Patthar, you will find it full of life because it is the only place in the world for every Everest Lover. Kalapathar is a well-defined viewpoint. Above all, you will see a 360-degree panoramic view of Mt Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and so on. You follow the downhill trekking trail to the Imja valley. It is the only place in the Everest Region where barley is grown.
Trek down to the forest that exemplifies rhododendron and juniper trees with a few magnolias and birch trees. Cross the prayer-flag festooned bridge on the Dudh Koshi River. Have lunch on the way. While trekking, enjoy the exclusive view of Ama Dablam. There are winding trails ahead. As you trek, you will see the last glimpse of Lhotse and Everest. In the hotel, you might see the trekkers of all genres.
Retrace and find out the steps that you have covered. Why not become overwhelmed and cherish at the distance that you have covered? Why not also take the last photo of the Everest Region? You might find this last scene as the awesome scenery of your life, after all, Everest Region is the iconic region, incomparable. You will pass through villages, such as Monjo and Phakding.
Leaving Lukla, you fly to Kathmandu in the morning due to the wind in the afternoon; sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather. In Kathmandu, treat yourself with the facilities of urbanization. Find yourself during something that you have missed. Splurge along the streets of Thamel. Soak up the best cuisines that Kathmandu offers before you bid farewell to Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have dinner in a Nepali typical restaurant where we can see the cultural dances. Share the joy and experiences of trekking.

Overall excellent with much personal attention by the Company Owner. Good guide and porter. 3 Passes trek had fewer folks than the standard EBC trek which was what I wanted and it worked out well. Renjo La Pass was the highlight with the best view of Everest.
In my 2 week stay, John was very professional and took me around to experience all that Kathmandu and surrounding areas has to offer. Sites were seen and many locals were met through John’s network. He is a kind man who will take care of any issue no matter how big or small. I highly recommend his company for any travel needs you may have.
I was in Nepal for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Outstanding sceneries and good hospitality. On the way to the base camp, I got an opportunity to visit Bthe uddhist monastery as well as got some information about Buddhism. That was great. Our guide and porter were awesome. Very kind and helpful. Thank you, TMG.
Trekking with Travel Max Guide was an amazing experience. My selection of a trip and the company were excellent and of a right decision. In each moment of my walk, I came across adventure and discovered something new. I remember my first step on the Everest Base Camp. The view was spectacular. Passing through the Sherpa communities and staying in Namche Bazaar is unforgettable. I miss the trip very much. Anyway, thank you so much for your service while I was in Nepal. See you next time for the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Originally from the United State of America from the city of Los Angeles where life is busy and rush. I made a trip with TMG. It’s a new experience than I excepted. I found Nepalese people really welcoming. They really love tourists. While trekking in the Everest region, I got time to spend with nature, gained plenty of ideas of culture and tradition from the Himalayas. The trip was totally mind-blowing. TMG has a good team spirit and is dedicated to serving guest and trekkers.
The trip price we have mentioned is inclusive and includes transportation, accommodation, meals during the trek, and government taxes, including guide service and porter. For personal expenses, the money you should bring is USD 500, and you have to exchange it into Nepali currency in Kathmandu before trekking.
No, because we have to pay for the hotel, transportation company, guide, government, and porter. For some trips, we have to book air tickets. We have to book all of these in advance. That is the reason, why we do not refund.
Only if you are doing a private tour (private trek), you can add extra days. If you are trekking in a group, then this is not possible. Because on a private tour, you have chosen your date, and you can trek in the way you have decided, we mean to say, there will be you or your family or friends, no outsiders.
There will be other people in the group, but we do not tell you about their personal information, but of course, we can say the number of people in the group.
Nepal is the safest trekking destination in the world because you will be with a trekking guide and a porter. Lodges are safe, and our guide always gives paramount importance to your safety.
There is no such age limit because we have had families who trekked with us with their kids like 9 years old as well as senior people aged 70.
If you are seriously affected by altitude mountain sickness, then you will be flown to Kathmandu for treatment.
· Hepatitis A · Hepatitis B · Typhoid · Malaria · Rabies
We would like to recommend this diet rather than meat because in the mountainous regions there are no fridges to store meat.
If it is urgent, then you should find some privacy on the trail and pee.
Yes, you can charge, and you have to pay $1 to $4 an hour for charging.
C or D type outlet (adapter). Ask your guide, you can buy an adapter at a cheap price in Kathmandu.
Tea houses might charge you from USD3 to USD 10 for Wi-Fi, and another option is to get a Nepal Telecom SIM card or Ncell SIM Card. You can also use your guide’s mobile for an international if you reimburse him.
Yes, you can at a small fee, especially when you acclimatize.
In Nepal, many people still use cash; this does mean there is no ATM. You will find ATM in the main cities of Nepal, including Kathmandu and Pokhara. We would like to recommend you to exchange USD into Nepali currency before trekking.
You must be 100% physically fit, that means, you should not have acute health problem nor chronic health problem.
Most of the time, we have the first time trekkers, and they are doing good. So, you do not need to have any experience to do a trek, but we do recommend you jogging, swimming, and walking before coming to Nepal for it. Previous experience will be a plus point.
It is a sickness caused due to the lack of oxygen at a higher altitude in the mountainous region, and one of the ways to overcome it is to drink plenty of water. The other is descending to a lower altitude, and the medicine you can take to fight against it is Diamox (acetazolamide).
Yes, the trek runs. We do not charge any extra money for a solo trekker.
Insect repellent. Antiseptic cream. Anti-diarrhoeal drug Antibiotics Paracetamol Skin cream for blisters. Diamox Multi-vitamin Iodine Cotton Tape Dettol
Yes, it does, and the rescue is done through helicopter, and the cost of the rescue operation is likely to be from USD 2500 to 3000 USD per person. If there is a group rescue operation, then the cost is likely to be USD 500 per person.
Tourism is the main source of income for the guides, porters, and hotel owners in Nepal, so we believe that the Himalayas should be protected not only for this generation but also for the future generation. Every trek that TMG runs focuses on taking care of the ecological aspects and works with the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP).
It is a sickness caused due to a lack of oxygen at an altitude of 2000 m plus. It affects some trekkers easily, but to some, it does not. Out of 10, one is affected by Altitude Mountain Sickness. It can be life-threatening. Travel Insurance is a must.
It is an opportunity to combine challenging mountain trail, unique culture and stunning mountains that are famous in the world. It is also an opportunity to trek to the Everest Base Camp Trek and the Annapurna Base Camp, and other famous treks of Nepal are Langtang Trek, Manaslu Trek, Kanchenjunga Trek, and so on. It is also overcoming Altitude Mountain Sickness.
When you decide to trek, trek with a company that likes to take your responsibility, and that has licensed and experienced trekking guide. Please do not throw bottles in the river while you are trekking in a remote place.
During trekking, you will spend your night in a tea house. The tea house is a lodge or a guest house. The tea house is an old name for a lodge because trekkers and climbers gave this name 40 years ago because it used to sell only tea then. Now they also sell meals as well as provide bedrooms for the trekkers and climbers. The old name tea house is still used by the trekking agencies in Nepal. Hence, the name tea house trek. Tea house differs from village to village where you are going to spend your night. Some have attached bathrooms as well as running a hot water facility, while others have only basic facilities, that is, you have to share a toilet and a bathroom with others. This is so because they are located in a high altitude and the remotest area. Some provide dormitory-style accommodation, but they also provide you a bed, a pillow, a blanket, and a bedsheet still, you must have your own sleeping bag. Homestay trek is different from a tea house trek because, in the former, you will spend your night in a home and eat meals with the family members. It is just like staying in your own home.
Yes, it will operate on the day it is scheduled, except in the event that is beyond our control, such as political issues and natural disasters that will create undesirable travel conditions.
Please read our cancellation policy on Terms and Conditions
February, March, April, May, June, September, October, and November are typically for trekking in Nepal.
Police checkpoints are numerous and unavoidable and park officers can check your permits at any time, with a fine of double the normal cost if you are caught without the proper permits. Do not try to bribe officers or police personnel; it might get you in more trouble than you think. Most of the time there will be two or 3 permits, one will belong to a conservation area or national park, another will be Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) Card and the last one is restricted area entry permit. You will need one or two or all of the permits mentioned above.

Trek legally. If you trek independently, you are not allowed to take any staff by law. You need for this a Trekking Agency, the sole authorized to employ staff for foreign trekkers. Do not hire staff or “independent guides” through hotels, unless they have a Trekking Agent license or offer this service through an affiliated Trekking Agent. • Please make sure you take all of your trash, including bottles and cans from goods consumed in restaurants, to the nearest dustbins. Pollution and lack of trash management in the villages on the treks – including trash-clogged rivers and mounds of discarded beer bottles.
Before the departures check that your travel insurance covers trekking activities and the conditions. Be aware that some insurance companies view even walking in the mountains as “mountaineering” and will not provide coverage. Most reputable trekking agencies will require proof of rescue insurance before you start on your trek. It would be very costly to pay a helicopter rescue at 5000 meters. Some insurance policies, in fact, most, will not cover you over 4000m.
Always carry a head torch/lamp, water, some food, and a mobile phone with helicopter evacuation number, local police station and nearby health post in case of emergencies.
Please read up extensively on Altitude sickness. Be familiar with the symptoms and do not ignore them. Be sure to keep to a conservative ascent schedule and drink plenty of fluids. If you or anyone in your party begins to experience symptoms of acute mountain sickness (AMS), do not ascend any further, and if they do not improve, then descend to a lower altitude. Carry some Diamox (acetazolamide) pills, easily found in pharmacies in Nepal. Diamox forces the kidneys to excrete bicarbonate in the urine, therefore making the blood more acidic, which stimulates breathing, increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood. But note that Diamox is not an immediate fix for acute mountain sickness; it speeds up part of the acclimatization process which in turn helps to relieve symptoms. This may take up to a day or two, and requires waiting without any further rapid ascent. It is often advisable to descend if even mild acute mountain sickness is experienced. If serious sickness is encountered or symptoms of high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) or high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE) occur, descent with another trekker is A MUST. Please consult the pharmacist when purchasing Diamox and do your own research. One major thing to remember is that the body requires large amounts of water at altitude to counteract sickness so be sure to drink more than you are used to!
The treks in Nepal are suitable for a wide spectrum of experience and physical fitness. If you can walk uphill for a few hours each day, then you can find a suitable trek in Nepal. An easy trek with Nepali support (guide/porter) and teahouse accommodation is quite attainable for anyone who is reasonably fit. A longer trek, crossing high passes and into remote regions demands a higher degree of endurance. For Trekking Peaks, i.e. summiting a mountain of 5650-6500m, it is desirable to have some alpine climbing experience.
Few of the common accommodation options while trekking in Nepal are Tea Houses (Lodges) which can be found at various points on the trek. They offer dorm room accommodation and simple basic meals reflective of what the local people in the area eat. Although many tea houses and hotels in the hills and mountains are reasonably comfortable, some may not be comfortable, so it makes sense to bring a sleeping bag even for teahouse treks. Camping is another option for trekkers and it can be conducted almost anywhere in the country. Camping treks can be fully organized and supported with a team of guides, cooks, and porters to accompany you. Homestays in local villages can also be organized in few treks.
There are 33 mountain peaks in Nepal of 5,650-6,500m height classified as trekking peaks. Climbing permits for these peaks cost USD 350 for one to four members, an additional USD 40 each for the next four members and USD 25 each for the final four members. Trekking peaks require a qualified climbing guide, permits and deposits to cover camp waste disposal.
The best seasons for trekking are the dry and warm seasons, March-June and September-November. The temperature is bearable and skies are usually clear in these seasons, although the skies are foggier and the rain begins in May-June. It is possible to trek out of season, but you have to be ready for the occasional rain and leeches along the way. During the monsoon season and winters, the treks are virtually emptier.
Trekking is the most popular activity in Nepal, and travelers will be bombarded on the streets of Kathmandu and the trekking hub, Pokhara, with guides, organized tours, and gear for sale or rent. The huge variety of options allows for people of many ages and capabilities to attempt a trek in the country. While you could spend a year planning an expedition to wild and lofty places that few would dare attempt, you could also arrive in Kathmandu with no plans and be on the trail in a matter of days. With eight of the top ten highest summits in the world and some of the most beautiful landscapes which are only reachable on foot, trekking in Nepal is one of the unique experiences.
What we have said, we will provide you all. Please tell us if you need extra. We do not want you only to become happy, but also from happier to the happiest throughout your trip. Having said this, we cannot control the bad weather as well as the other thing, like bandh by the political parties. This thing will lead to a change in your itinerary, but our sole purpose will be to follow it and to take you from one place to another safely. As regards this, we would like to tell you now that you should bring some extra cash for the above situation or for extra days, which are not included in the itinerary, however, it is just like once in a blue moon because Nepal is 99% politically stable country.
Yes, this is what we want to say to you from our heart and mind because your happiness is our happiness; if you are happy, we are happy. Your happiness depends on so many factors; first, it depends on the service that we provide, second, it depends on the weather, and third can be anything related to your trek. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or Lukla to Kathmandu might get canceled due to bad weather, which can last from 1 to 2 days, and sometimes, it lasts only for 2 hours. Weather can be bad even in the best months, and we cannot guarantee this to anybody when the weather will be good. This is the reason why you should bring some extra cash with you because you have to stay at a hotel either in Lukla or Kathmandu, and you have to pay for all the personal expenses by yourself. If the bad weather lasts for more than 2 days, then your travel plan would be affected because you have to fly out from Nepal to your country. In such a time, if the bad weather lasts for a couple of days, you can choose the alternative trek like Annapurna Base Camp or Langtang Valley Trek; however, we do not refund the money to you. Sorry for the problem caused by the weather. Weather is also another reason why you should come to Nepal with some extra days.
