Our American Clients say Nepal is a beautiful country. We went deeper and ask them the reasons. The Himalayas were always on the top of their list. Most of our American Clients love the Everest Base Camp Trek. We have Japanese Clients, Australians, and British as well. Most of our American Clients ask about Kalapathar in our first meeting. We are glad that they know the name. Kala means black, and Patthar means stone. Kalapathar is a viewpoint and is famous for showing close up view of Mount Everest. In order to reach the summit of Kalapathar, you have to start early in the morning before breakfast. From there, you will see the first sunlight as well as the rare golden color of Mt. Everest. This will be the most unforgettable view in your life.
Trekking in the Everest Region is what our clients coming from different countries like to do. This region connects them with the highest mountain in the world. Trekking in this region is passing through villages that lie on the foothills of the mountains. This is really a great trekking trail.
Every year, twenty thousand trekkers head to the Everest Base Camp. While heading, they have to go through the Sagarmatha National Park. You know parks are always well preserved by the government. So, you will see a lot of mountains, blue mountain lakes, glaciers, high passes, and beautiful villages. It is the only place in the world to see real Sherpa Culture. The Sagarmatha National Park was established in 1976 and covers an area of 1148 square kilometers. This park is dotted with the Buddhist Gompas and chaityas, and its geographical features include rugged rocky valleys, alpine forests, and meadows. The trees that you see are pine and hemlock.
The local name of the Everest Region is Solukhumbu, but people call it either Solu or Khumbu. Your guide might also say Thulo Himal. Thulo means big in Nepali.
